There were no big surprises in the men's qualification, which was won by Guillaume Nantermod (SUI) . The second fastest rider in qualification, Radoslav Zidek (SVK), said: “It was perfect. I like turning courses. I was able to accelerate the whole time. But tomorrow will be a real fight.”

On the women's side, all top podium aspirants will compete in the finals of the best 16 ladies. Maelle Ricker from Canada won the qualification held in a sunny weather: “It was a lot of work for the legs but the course is fun. I have to clean up my runs and then I can go for the big shot.” Defending champion Lindsey Jacobellis (USA) agreed: “You have to ride very precisely. You aren't allowed to make any mistakes. I know that I can win although it has to be all there for me.”
