Description:
33 from registered 45 teams will attend this year’s edition of the International
Hebros Rally with coefficient 5, which is part of the European championship.
Hebros this year will take place from June 21 to 23, 2002 in Plovdiv and
the region. The total amount of the prices that will be given is 3 000 levs
(around 1 500 USD).
Mr. Ivan Nenov is the competition’s Executive Director. The Rally is held
under the auspices of the Head of the State Agency for Youth and Sports,
Mr. Vassil Ivanov. FIA’s observer is Mr. Ali Bachioglu (Turkey). Sports
commissioners are Mr. Peter Jacobs (Germany) and Mr. Peter Covac (Hungary).
The commissioner from the Bulgarian side is Mr. Stoyan Bekyarov.
The Rally’s route total length is 570 kilometers with 20 special stages
the total length of which amounts to 239 kilometers. The start is on Saturday,
June 22, at 9.31 from the area in front of the Plovdiv Novotel. The final
is also set there – on June 23, around 5.00 p.m.
To the organisers’ regret, only Bulgarian teams will take place in this
year’s edition of the Rally.
36 cars were checked at the technical review on Friday afternoon. 33 of
them were admitted for participation in the Rally. Once again, problems
with the roll-bars were the reason for the technical commissioners to accept
no compromise – three vehicles were denied participation in tomorrow’s competition
– these are No 22, 30 and 33 – namely, Kiril Kirilov with Fiat Tipo, Michail
Anguelov with VAZ 21074 and Plamen Staikov with VAZ 2107. |

During the Rally Hebros 2002 you can receive for free information about
the rally as SMS on your mobile phone! In order to activate receiving of
SMS messages about rally, you have to send from your GSM phone the
word rally to the short number 1221 (without a national or
an area code). Your GSM phone has to be registered in the M-Tel GSM network
and the phone settings for the SMS Service Centre number should be +35988000301.
As a reply, you will receive SMS confirmation for your registration.
